1st year Community Manager/Marketing Manager, Crystal Ryan, is excited about her new role with MetroPlains Management, and for good reasons.

A large portion of the company's portfolio includes properties in Sturgis which are Heritage Acres; a community specifically designated for the elderly and disabled, whereas Hunter's Run Townhomes, Bluff’s Edge Apartments, and Butte Ridge Apartments are all family communities and there are no restrictions on age.

MetroPlains has two family properties located in Whitewood which are the Chiang Apartments and the Bauer Geiger Apartments. Tanglewood Apartments located in Belle Fourche and Rolling Hills Apartments in Spearfish are also some family communities they manage. They even have property as far out as Newell; the Newell Townhouses are a fully subsidized family community.

The majority of MetroPlains housing communities offer rental assistance programs to qualified applicants which provide the community with safe and affordable housing options.

Because the properties are located in different counties and have different sources of subsidy the income guidelines vary by locations. Individuals interested in any of the facilities should contact the office to get the current guidelines.

Ryan states “Typically MetroPlains' family based communities offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. The majority of the elderly and disabled housing communities are 1 and 2 bedrooms. The amenities differ from property to property; however, as a standard, the majority of them do offer A/C units, controlled heating throughout the units, onsite laundry facilities, water/sewer/trash removal included in rent, and 24-hour maintenance.” Certain properties also include discounted cable options which are included with rent. “It’s always a good idea to contact the property manager for more details regarding the specific property of interest.

MetroPlains Management has 35 plus years in the management business and staff have a combined 350 years of experience. The mission is to meet the goals of owners and investors while providing the best possible environment for residents.
