In 2007, Principals LaVerne Hanson Jr., Rob McCready, and Randy Schold created new development and asset management companies. MetroPlains, LLC provides development services and MetroPlains Partners, LLC provides general partner asset management services.
MetroPlains, LLC principals have more than 90 years of combined real estate development experience. Their housing development experience includes more than 55 historic renovations and just as many townhome, apartment and mixed-use structures.

LaVerne (Vern) Hanson Jr. – Principal
Vern’s expertise includes project creation, architectural design, construction project management and overall development. He is directly involved in all phases of projects from inception through asset management. Vern is a registered architect, holds NCARB certifications, and has both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in architecture.
Rob McCready – Principal
Rob’s strengths are debt and equity financing, tax credit analysis, public finance applications and project structuring. While his forte is crunching numbers, his greatest satisfaction comes in meeting residents who are excited about their new home. Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration.
Randy Schold – Principal
Randy’s focus is on corporate planning, stakeholder relations and project creation. His leadership has contributed to the recognition MetroPlains’s architectural commitment has received from the AIA and numerous organizations and publications. Influenced by his education in Oregon and Scandinavia, Randy’s passion is combining old and new to create interesting and functional living spaces.
